Photos

Hi ALL,

just some minutes ago, trying to open PHOTOS, it appears on the Screen the following massage: PHOTOS CANNOT FIND THE SYSTEM PHOTO LIBRARY NAMED...

Any suggestion how to solve this?

Do you know where the system library is? have you moved it at all?

THK for the reply. I don't know where it is and I did't move it at all!

By default, it should be in the Pictures folder which is inside your Home folder.

Sigh...nothing there!

Have you checked the trash can?

It is possible to have it in a different location, but usually, the user would know if they've set it up this way. Is this your Mac? Does someone else use it? Do you ever use it with an external drive?

Yes...nothing there!

I did't change anything from some days ago where I was checking some pictures.

No I'm the only user since is my personal Mac

No I do not have an external drive

...nevertheless I can see all the pictures (Photo Library) on my iPhone!

The question then is whether it's been deleted or moved, if it's been deleted and it's not recoverable, you can get your photos back but you may lose any work you've done naming faces or any photo album/slideshow projects you've created, but let's not concede that yet.

Do you keep a backup?

Your Photos Library is possibly called 'Photos Library' unless you have changed it, you might try doing a search in the Finder for it.

Hold down the option key while launching Photos and the select library window will show you all valid Photos libraries on your Mac - test each one and hopefully you will find your library - if you do not then restore it from your backup
