I think my escape button just broke

I pressed my escape button while in full screen safari and it did nothing. :/

The escape button on my 2015 MacBook Pro 13-inch doesn't work. I tried this button on Youtube and other Video websites to exit full screen, this button used to work but it doesn't anymore.
