Why is MacBook Air suddenly heating up?

My MacBook Air has suddenly starting heating up.  Does anybody know why?  I would appreciate feedback.  I am active politically on Twitter, Facebook and many news outlets.  Could that have an affect?  Never has until today, so curious if other people have had similar problem and what to do.  I am not a computer geek by any stretch of the imagination and live in an isolated place with no access to professional help.  Would have to travel 4 hours to an Apple store.  Expensive and impractical.

Yes, it will, but it wont effect your computer heating up half as much if you are going to recipe sites and trying to bake cookies directly on your keyboard.

shut down, disconnect all external devices and reset the smc

repeat two or three times

reboot into safe mode

reboot normally

stop going to sites that hot headed people commiserate in and do some yoga instead.

if problems persist you may post an EtreCheck report for futher analyis.
