Viewing two Numbers documents side by side

Is there a way to do this in iOS?

I just have two spreadsheets that I need to see at the same time. How hard can it be?

Here is the general writeup on Multitasking on an iPad:

https://help.apple.com/ipad/10/

I don't recall if Pages, Numbers and Keynote have yet been enabled to open more than one window.  When multitasking was introduced, it could only be done using different applications.  That may still be true.  But this is probably the way to start looking for a solution, if it is out there.

I am able to do the split window thing with Numbers. But not if Numbers is currently on my screen.

I believe the real problem is the lack of support for multiple instances of an app. At least that is my guess. That nut will need to be cracked before you can have the same app up with two different documents. (or I could totally be wrong)

Yes, I agree.

Hi, Elden!  I know this is an old thread, but I was being driven mad this morning by the same problem.  Here's how to open and view as many Numbers docs (all at once) as you wish:

System Preferences > Dock > Prefer tabs when opening documents > Manually

This will put items up on your screen like a mosaic, instead of grouping them together by app with tabs.

Hope this helps!  Peace.

Your answer applies to OS X, not iOS on an iPad.

Hey -- I noticed that juuuuuuust as I was hitting the REPLY button.  Ah well.  Maybe my response will help someone on a Mac in the future.

Helped me!!!  Very ffustrating problem.  Thank you!
