Transferring photos library from a flash drive

So here recently, I've had to reset my 2011 Macbook Pro, and before that, I downloaded a copy of my photos library onto a flash drive, and now that I have reset my computer, I'd like to transfer it back onto my computer. So what I did, was delete the current library file from my Macbook, as well as the iPhoto libary, empty the trash bin and then simply tried to copy and paste the new library file from the flash drive to my pictures folder. Three different times the process would go normally until about 15 or so minutes left in the process then a dialogue window would pop up that says: "The operation can't be completed because an item with the name 'Photos Library' already exists." So my question is, what do I do to make the file transfer onto my computer?
