USB Audio CODEC drivers disap

Two weekends ago, the USB Audio CODEC drivers disappeared from the Audio Devices section of my mid-2011 iMac after I reorganized my home studio/office. The OS I’m using is El Capitan 10.11.6. I record the voiceovers for my radio show through an Alesis MultiMix 8 board into Audacity. The drivers are not found in Audio Devices or Sounds and a search of the computer has rendered nothing either. Nothing online shows a workaround to bring back the drivers. I have uninstalled and reloaded Audacity, didn’t work; I’ve downloaded the AlesisUSB2Audio driver software update and installed it, didn’t work; I bought a new USB cord, that didn’t work; I even installed the updated version of GarageBand and attempted to record my voiceover there but inline is not recognized there either because there are no drivers. The drivers are also missing from my brand new Mac Air that I bought last month. When I went to Best Buy to purchase a new USB cord, I spoke with the staffers there, including an Apple person. We checked all the display model Macs and none of them had the USB Audio CODEC drivers installed in them. The Apple rep made a few calls and suggested all of the things I had already tried. Any suggestions on how I get the drivers back would be appreciated.
