Purchased movies with iTunes extras will not play

None of my purchased digital movies that include iTunes extras will play. I have the latest iTunes 12.4.0.119 on my Windows 10 PC, but have had this problem for several months,, and versions, now. Other purchased movies work fine. Also, I have downloaded all of them to my computer and even tried deleting and re-downloading them to no avail. I have authorized again and again and nothing works. All I can get is the music playing at the iTunes extras screen and I can stream any of the bonus features but when I try to play a movie all i get is a slider bar on a black screen and the play button will now work. I have seen a ton of posts for this problem but no actual solutions. Any verified fixes out there?

You haven't by any chance seen a dialog like this one and ticked Do not warn me again have you?

Try Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset Warnings.

I reset the warnings and I do get this notice but it still doesn't play even if I choose Play SD.

I noticed an option under Edit > Preferences > Store to Download high-quality SD videos. Turning that off I've been able to download an SD version that plays on my Mac rather than trying to automatically play on my Apple TV.

I also have this problem, but on a 2015 macbook pro that should be able to play all my content... i can select the itunes extra, but i cannot view it, the screen will get stuck at black and never load the actual video
