Will I be charged twice for the same app on a d...

I purchased an app on my iPad and now downloaded the same on to my Mac. Although I purchased it under the same Apple ID, the prompt asked me to sign in for the purchase. Will I be charged twice? How do I make sure?

mac os apps and Ios apps are not the same app

only if the developer of the app choose it to be

Ios apps can even be in a version for ipads and for iphone

but the same app for say an iphone can ever only be purchased once with an appleID
