Avoid dock

Any app I launch now places itself in dock. I don’t want an app in the dock just because I opened it. Deleting it from the dock is a hassle. How do I prevent the app from inserting itself into the dock When I open it?

You don’t have to remove the apps on the right side of the dock: they change automatically to the apps you’ve been using most recently. It’s quite handy actually. But if you don’t like it, you can switch this function off in setting General > Multitasking & Dock (last option).
