Canon LBP 2900 Not working in Sierra

Hey,

Guys , 2900 canon Printer was Working fine .....but after Update of sierra not working

any idea....

for macOS Sierra.  Would not be surprising.  They've dropped

support for a lot of their printers in OS X and newer Windows versions.

Correct....

...but anyone have patch ...same issue was with recent os ..but after driver patch it was working cool

its most poplar printer ... many people looking for solution

Hi guys,

This worked for me:

1. Download the latest Canon CAPT Driver ver 3.90 from:

https://support-th.canon-asia.com/contents/TH/EN/0100420720.html

2. Download the Patcher as in point #3 at:

https://appdigg.ru/show-15548-kak-ustanovit-printer-canon-lbp2900-v-os-x-maverick s.html

Its is Russian, but you can see the blue link clearly.

3. Reboot and choose the LBP 2900 printer in System Preferences > Printers

Yes, it works!!

So, I download and install the latest CAPT Driver updated on 21-Sep-2016, this is the goal...

The path is the same old you can download from:  https://www.uzhva.com/temp/Canon_LBP3000_to_LBP2900_patcher.zip

After reboot add the printer in System Preferences...

Canon has never provided any Mac driver for this printer. You may have used a CUPS driver before, but you did not install any driver provided by Canon. The capture below shows only Windows drivers are available, none for any version of OS X. If you select any OS X version in the drop list, the result will always be "Available drivers (0)" and "This product is not supported with the operating system selected..."

note that I have been struggling for making my canon lbp2900 work well as before again, i have just recovered it today 20jan2017(sierra version 10.12.2) .

i have read some reviews saying that this old model of canon printer is no more up to date , but we have the solution today... thank you so much!

i have downloaded the step 1 mentioned  https://support-th.canon-asia.com/contents/TH/EN/0100420720.html  ! installed.

unfortunately, i couldn't download the step 2 due to my slow internet line, but i replace it with what our friend - bobiron suggested: https://www.uzhva.com/temp/Canon_LBP3000_to_LBP2900_patcher.zip  

restart, and done!

I had this problem as well. but after trying to download many canon lbp 2900 printer drivers from different sites, finally found one and it works. sometimes, it takes a little bit longer time before it starts to print after pressing "print" button.
