keyboard with bar code reader?

Hi,

I have an Ipad 2 with 16 GB of storage and I would like to know if there is any app thas has a keyboard with bar code reader?

There are lots of barcode reader apps out there. Red Lazer is a commonly used one. Search the App Store for "barcode reader".

AFAIK, there are no hardware keyboards with built in bar code scanners. There are keyboards with built in magnetic strip scanners. Some of them have a built in port to attach a laser bar code scanner, but they are not designed to work with iPads.

As IdrisSeabright  suggested, search the App Store There are literally dozens of different bar code reader apps. Keyboards have nothing to do with this functionality.

There is an android app that the keyboard has a key that open a bar code reader, Do you know if there is one app like this for Ipad?

Sorry, but what does that even mean?  A keyboard app, as in a 3rd party keyboard?, that has something to do with reading bar codes?  I can't even wrap my head around what such a thing would be?  Could you explain exactly what you mean by that?

To read a bar code with an iPad or iPhone, you open a bar code reader app, point your camera lens at the bar code and the app uses the camera to read it.

No app developers have posted a 3rd party keyboard app with integrated barcode scanning to the iOS App Store as of yet. The only one that does is called ScanBoard and they require you to have their external hardware as well to utilize this function.  Several apps in the App Store offer barcode scanning, so I can't really say what the benefit of having their external peripherals.

No, never heard of nor seen such an app.  I'd imagine the demand for such a thing is pretty low.  You could pick a bar code reader app you like and put it in your menu bar so it's always and readily available with minimal effort.

Have you found an app that will do this?  I need the same thing - use a key on keyboard to activate the camera barcode scanner - and have results go into the field the cursor is in.  I had an ios app that did this about 3 years ago but cannot find it anymore. 

Did you ever find one? I am looking for just the same! Found it for android, but not for ios. Do not want any extra hardware or regular barcode reader app, but a 3rd party keyboard that enables the camera for barcode reading by pressing a key.
