How to delete pictures from iCloud

I got the prompt that 5Gb memory on my iCloud is full. How do I delete photos to make room for new ones? Do I delete them from Photo Stream on my IPhone? But those are also on my iPad and iMac. Please tell me how to go about ut

Photo Stream doesn't use your iCloud storage, so you have to delete other things

On your device go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage and select your device. You are then able to disable the backup for individual apps, to regain space.

It is most likely the camera roll app that is taking the most space.

How can I see what is in icloud to delete the pictures I don't need to keep there anymore? I also have run out of space and my phone can no longer back up.  I know that the pictures from my MacBook, old iPhone 5 and current iPhone 6 are what is taking up the space. I think some of the pictures may be duplicates. I wish to clean out the icloud.

Use the Photos app or go to iCloud.com/Photos using a computer.
