iPad Pro pencil and iOS 11

Since upgrading to IOS 11 on my iPad Pro 10.5, I’ve noticed the pencil has lost some functionality. I can no longer edit part of a word typed. I have to backspace to the character I want to change; then re-enter.  I used to be able to hover over the word (just like you can with your finger) and pick the character using the Pencil to edit. I don’t seem to be able to hover with the Pencil on any apps since upgrading.

I’ve tried tightening the tip, forgetting and reconnecting the Pencil without success.

Anyone else noticed or found a way to fix.

Lost functionality that I also greatly miss. Tell Apple to bring it back.
