IOS 11 features

I have an iPad mini 4 and just updated to iOS 11. I can’t get the side by side apps to work. I can do an overlay with one app in a sidebar on top another, but they will not display side by side. Ive seen no mention online of a hardware limitation excluding this feature, but it works on my husband’s new iPad Pro. All of my sliders for multitasking and gestures are turned on in settings. If side by side doesn’t work then multiple apps open at once is much less useful.

It does work. I have a mini 4 as well, it’s just tricky.

Open one app, then swipe from the bottom to bring up the app switcher and scroll to the other one you want to open. HOld your finger down on it and drag it up onto the screen and you should either see a half and half thing or 2/3 - 1/3 thing.

The one you just dragged up, you see a little bar on the top, drag that down a bit and you will get into resize mode where you can adjust the side by side sharing size.
