Ipod 5 cannot Synch

After updating the latest software for my iPod and iTunes, Synch fails. It "seems" to synch, but it ends with "Waiting for changes to be applied". Also it creates new playlists both in iTunes and sometimes also in the iPod, but the changes to the playlists that I'm trying to synch do not happen.

Actually, the main reason for the changes I need to make are because the iPod software has shortened the names of the musical tracks displayed. Many of my trakcs start with the same word, so it becomes impossible to use. If there were a way to widen the vieing area in Music that would at least be a start. Rotating the iPod does nothing.

iTunes version: 12.7.0.166 running on Windows 10 PC
iPod: 9.3.5 (13G36) (there are no further updates as far as I know).
