Calendar v9.0 creates new events for no reason

I am running Calendar v9.0 on macOS Sierra 10.12.4 on my 15" MacBook Pro Touchbar and as I am trying to modify an existing event that I created, let's say just clicking the time in the event window that just Popped up to change the time, instead of letting me enter the desired time as a response to the click, it creates a new event up to the time on the calendar behind the event window. I typically run my calendar in week view so when I double click an event at 9am on Monday for example, the event window pops in the Tuesday column. So, when I click the time to modify it for the Monday Event, instead of allowing me to change the time, it creates that unwanted new event starting from Monday and ending Tuesday. I hope that makes sense. After the event is created, it will not let me delete it until I Quit the software and reopen it. Since my calendars are very organize and I have 20 events in one day, this process is the most inefficient it has ever been. I just defaulted to using my iPhone for events since it does not happen there. Anybody else having this issue? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Opened calendar via spotlight , selected week view created an event on a desired date , hold command key and moved three fingers towards right side  on the trackpad to create events from Mon 17 to Sat 22 all were selected and highlighted , right clicked on event and clicked on delete .

In your question you asked Mon to Tues same method for deleting and quit the calendar application .

Thanks. This does help me delete the new events as opposed to trying to select the event with one click then pushing the delete button on the keyboard. However, the events are still created when I try to drag the event around with a one click and drag. Dragging with three fingers seems to work better and I'm yet to have an "unwanted" event created doing so.

Yes , by pressing delete button on keyboard will also work .

An , another method double click on date event is created , click on tab button two times on keyboard to select the time .

You can change the ends date as 1/5/2017

And create events between dates . then delete .

Update: The right click and delete actually stopped working for me. I have attempted over 10 times and the "new event" still remains until I quit the program and open it back up. So, the delete button the keyboard does not work nor does the right click and delete. Back to ground zero.

I've experienced what appears to be a very similar problem. Unwanted events seem to be created easily in Calendar starting with version 9.0 (probably), with the problem being especially noticeable on Sierra. These unwanted events cannot be deleted in most cases unless you quit the app, in which they "magically" disappear. I believe that they are "artifacts" of a sort, leftovers that are part of the algorithm that generates calendar events, and stay displayed on the screen but are not actually saved in the calendar for the most part. (It's a little tough to explain, isn't it...)

When an unwanted event is created in this scenario, I sometimes find that Command+Z will undo the unwanted event, even though deleting or selecting the event will not work. Give that a try and let us know how it works.

Thanks for the reply. Everything you stated is exactly what I've experience. I switched to Fantistical 2 and was worth the $10. No such problem has ever occurred and has way more features than Calendar.
