macOS sierra 10.2.1 closing lid = crash & b...

Hello!

 

Since I upgrade my MacBook pro (15 inch - mid 2015) to macOS sierra, the brightness cannot be adjusted (neither with F1 & F2 buttons nor by going into system preferences). Auto-brightness is turned off.

 

Another issue I have is that I often just close the lid without turning it off when I just step away from my desk in the office for a while. Since upgrading it will crash every time I reopen the lid again instead of waking up and prompting for the password.

 

Does anyone experience similar issues? If yes, how did you fix it?

I tried resetting it as described in the link but that didn't work for me. Still can't change screen brightness and laptop still keeps crashing.

I have never personally encountered this error. I did some research on the web and people who encounter the same problem we solved their concerns to the apple store... If you have time try to make a backup of your machine and to reset it ...



thanks - was thinking of that too but wanted to avoid it... Looks like i'll give it a shot and if that also doesn't help take it to an apple store.



How did you solve this in the end (assuming that the problem is solved now). I get the same issue now after upgrading to Mac OS High Sierra,
