Notes app syncs on iPad/iPhone, not Mac?

My Notes app, all its folders and files, are syncing between my IPad and iPhone, but those folders & files do not show up on my 27" iMac, even though Notes is checked off in iCloud settings. What's missing? Please advise, thanks

"Yes, I can update, although I don't think this is the problem."

In fact, that is the issue. Notes were upgraded with iOS 9 and with El Capitan. If you are running upgraded notes on one system but not the other, they will not sync, and that is the issue here. Until your Mac is updated, you will not be running the upgraded Notes app, and your iOS 10 notes won't sync with it.

We would need to know what iOS version your iOS devices are running and what OS your Mac is running. Also, what you have done to troubleshoot already.

iMac is running 10.5.5 Yosemite. iPhone 7+ (version 10.3.2) and iPad 12.9 are both less than 6 months old and have been regularly updated, so they are running the latest versions.

Yosemite is several generations old. If your computer can accommodate Mac OS Sierra then  please update it. If your computer is older and cannot run Sierra then update to El Capitan.

Yes, I can update, although I don't think this is the problem. All other apps like iCal, iMessage, Photos and all email accounts are syncing find between my iMac and all my IOS devices; it would be odd if only Notes was not syncing due to the older OS. But if you feel certain that's the problem, I'll update to Sierra.

I have the same problem, and am up to date on all OS's, iCloud, etc. Notes on my recently purchased MacBook Air look considerably different, and are fewer, than they do on my iPhone, which is a shame, because I need to copy and paste them on my Air. Any other thoughts? Anyone?

Please call AppleCare, all the app information needed has already been provided.
