How to start/stop video recording on iPhone usi...

How do you start and stop a video recording on your iPhone remotely using the Apple Watch's camera app? I have no problem taking still shot pictures but I don't see an option for video.

Hi,

To begin streaming video from your iPhone's camera to your Apple Watch, just tap on the Camera app icon on the Watch. It will automatically launch the Camera app on your iPhone, even if the iPhone's screen is off, and you'll see the video feed on your Watch. When you're done on the watch tap End Video.

Hi David

This is incorrect / an invented answer.

It is not presently possible to start and stop a video recording on your iPhone remotely using the Camera app on Apple Watch.

The app can presently only be used for taking photos.

If you would like to suggest that Apple considers adding remote video recording functionality to the Camera app on Apple Watch, you can do so here:

Start the camera app from your watch and let it launch the camera app on the phone. Once open, on your phone, swipe over to video mode and the watch remote shutter button will start the recording with a tap and then stop a recording with another tap.

Where did you come up with that. Do you even have a Apple Watch. Cuz I have a series 2 and when you switch it to video on your phone the watch says "video not supported switch to photo". Don't comment or give advise when you have no idea *** your talking about

I was surprised, but I just tested it and it works for video. Maybe it changed in an update.  Although you do have to keep the phone awake you will get an error, if you put the watch to sleep

You do have to start the video playing on your phone ,you are unable to stop and start the video from the watch.   But you will be able to see what the video is taking once you start the video recording on your phone. Not sure how this would be useful but it is possible

When you launch the Camera app on your phone, you will have to go change it to video on the phone and start the video from your phone. If you attempt to start or stop the video on your watch it will only take a still shot. But you can see in the display of your watch what you were taking the video of. I'm not sure how this will be useful as the watch should be used as a remote.

I teated it with my Apple Watch series 2 and iPhone 6s Plus on the latest os's twice before I posted. Unlike some, I post what I know to be true and verify it before I submit. ;-)

Yeah so did I right before I posted here and with the latest update on both iPhone 6s and Apple Watch series 2and YOU CAN NOT START AND STOP A VIDEO FROM THE WATCH.

I'm sorry you can't start the video from the watch but can't start it

I'm not sure what you are doing wrong but I am right bro. https://youtu.be/FUoX23ajXxI

I actually tried it a couple of times and it Works but sometimes it sends a message "video not supported switch to photo"
