After closing LID, laptop does not sleep

I am having MacBook Pro with macOS Sierra 10.12.6. Since last two months, when I close a laptop LID, my laptop does not sleep. Because of this laptop heats up and battery drains. I raised a call with Apple support. We tried all possible options including reinstalling OS. But this problem continues.

Apple recommended to bring a laptop to store for technical support. I am based in India and not sure about Apple support quality. Anyone facing similar issue?
