raid1 failed rebuild after prolonged disk disco...

I have two external disks (WD 1 TB) in Raid 1 using Apple Disk Utility (appleraid v2.0) on a MAC Mini with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. Few months ago I have disconnected one of the disks and continued to work on the Raid 1 (so using effectively only one disk). Now, after for several months, I have reconnected the missing disk (which remained unused), and the Raid 1 seem to have lost all files and folders new/modified. The rebuild failed as it has rebuild to the original data set prior to disk disconnection, and not to the updated disk one. This is not normal. Any explanation on what could happened or any suggestion on what to do? Many thanks for your support.

Further details: after reconnecting the disk, the disk utility was correctly telling that the Raid1 was degraded and was rebuilding, and at the end the Raid 1 is declared as OK, but new files/folders disappeared!. I run several time verity and repair on the Rad1 and individually on each slice, and the disk are declared as OK.
