I cannot import backed up files from iTunes

Hello, I am new here, and not so long ago, I purchased an iPhone 6. I have always been fan of stay up-to-date with everything, so I enrolled to the iOS 11 beta program. Today I decided to reroll back to iOS 10, until version 11 officially releases, but a problem I can't seem to fix occured.

First I backed up my phone on iTunes, and I also downloaded iCloud drive on my computer (Windows 10 machine if I forgot to mention), to check if all my images and videos were backed up perfectly which they were. Then the problems appeared.

1st problem: When I actually tried to reroll, I had of course checked myself out of the beta program, but when I went to my iPhone settings, I could not find the iOS 10 update, but when I plugged into iTunes, it resetted it for me back to version 10, but not free of flaws.

2nd problem: When it actually restarted, or atleast tried to I had got some error codes, the first one telling me the code 21, and I checked it up, told me to switch usb port, then I retried, and iTunes gave me code 14, also somehow telling me to try another port. I switched to an USB 2.0 port, and it actually worked and my phone was finally resetted.

3rd and main problem: My phone is up, without my contacts, without my settings, and everything is gone. That was expected, but when I open iTunes, it tells me Your device has never been backed up on this computer. (In norwegian though, this is my translation).

When I go to preferences, Devices I can see the backup, meaning it is backed up to my computer, but I cannot import it to my phone. Sorry for the long text, but I want everything detailed for the best support possible. Can anyone tell me how I can import my settings and my contacts back to my phone?

Unless you made a backup of the pre-beta state of the device and have archived that so it hasn't been updated by subsequent backups then you won't be able to restore the backup to the device given that it is now running iOS 10.3.3.

It is possible that in all these steps, the important backup was overwritten with what’s now the empty backup, but let’s try...

First, go to itunes Preferences/Settings, Devices, right-click on the Backup and select Archive from the pull-down menu. This will prevent it being overwritten.

Connect iPhone to iTunes, select your iPhone and stay on the Summary page. Note there are two places where Restoring is mentioned. Click on Restore Backup in the Backups section. You should now see a dialog window with a pull-down menu that allows you to select which backup to use for restoring.

The ability to archive backups isn't included in iTunes for Windows. A possible approach for Windows users is given in Archive iPhone backup in Windows.
