Help with external drive setup

What is the best setup is for my circumstances?

 

My new iMac is coming with a 512GB SSD. I need about 16TB for media file (mostly video) storage and room for expansion. Plus, I need backup for the video files as well as my internal drive. I think it's as simple as that.
