Desktop Auto

I use my MacBook pro primarily at home plugged into an external monitor. I have a specified setup for the icons when plugged into the monitor but as soon as I unplug it from my MacBook (ie to use it at school), the icons automatically rearrange and clump up ( https://imgur.com/a/JjORW ). Is there anyway to have it one way when plugged into the monitor and another when unplugged without having to manually move all the icons?
