nightstand mode not working

I updated to watch os4 on launch and iOS 11. Using a 42mm black stainless steel series 2 watch. 

When I placed it on my angled charger I do not get the "ding" sound for charging and my watch does not go into nightstand mode. Watch not silenced. It is charging. 

I've powered off and on and force restarted. Still not working. 

She anyone have any suggestions? If your suggestion entails re downloading the firmware and installing can you please give me details how to do that? Thanks
