Watch transfer to new phone

Phone died and I can't unpair watch. Want to pair watch with new phone without erasing watch content.

Follow the instructions here:

 

 

Historic Health and Activity data is stored on the paired iPhone, not on your Apple Watch. To retain this, be sure to restore your new iPhone from an encrypted backup of your old iPhone.

 

If you cannot unpair your Apple Watch via the Watch app on your old iPhone, then you will need to erase your Apple Watch manually before being able to pair it with your new iPhone:

 

  • On your Apple Watch, go to: Home screen (via a single press on the Digital Crown) > Settings (cog icon) > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings.

 

Then pair it to your new iPhone via the standard process, choosing to Restore from Backup, if offered the option:
