I’m trying to connect magic keyboard

I’m trying to connect my new magic keyboard to my old mac. At first it showed up but said “not connected” so I couldn’t use it wirelessly, so i tried again. The second time I tried connecting it said that the device couldn’t be connected. So I tried a third time, and now the keyboard isn’t even showing up in the Bluetooth menu. I’ve tried everything apple suggests (turning off and on again basically) and nothing is working

First off, your Mac needs to be running macOS 10.11 or later.
