Strange screen on iMac sleep restart

Need a little help on this one:

My new iMac 27" 5K works fine, but after a sleep I sometimes get the image below before the sign-on screen where I input the password. It usually only stays onscreen a few seconds, but once or twice it has remained onscreen until I hit a key.

Having never seen this before I'm wondering if it's a serious or not-so-serious bit of trouble. The computer is new, within the return window, so I want to be certain this isn't a bigly problem.

I would take your picture and the computer back. That isn't a normal screen when waking from sleep.

I would say this is not normal.

If it were my iMac, especially since you're still within the return window, I would visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center (or your retailer, assuming it is an authorized Apple retailer) and show them the issue.
