What happens when iCloud Photo Library is bigge...

I can’t seem to find a clear answer to his scenario.

having 1tb of storage in iCloud is great, but...

i only have a 32gb iPad Pro

What happens if my iCloud Photo Library was 500gb of files, synced from a PC or Mac, and then I enabled iCloud Photo Library on my iPad? Obviously all of the photos won’t fit on the device, so how is this handled?

Will the iPad just fill up until it‘s full and then throw an error?

What happens?

When it does it's first check with iCloud, it will warn you there is not enough space.

On your iPad, select to Optimize your local Photos library. With this option, Photos will automatically keep reducing photo resolutions of older and less used images to leave enough on-device free storage for other users.
