Music Family Membership confirmation of 99 USD ...

Just got an email looking very official from Apple saying I purchased a "Apple Music Family Membership" of 99 USD without doing anything. Spam or real? Anyone experiencing the same?

If real how to handle it, or no nead since it might be fake ?

Br Tony

If the only indication of the charges is from an email or text, be aware that it may be a phishing attempt to get you to log in to a site that appears to be Apple and divulge your password or credit card information. Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' alerts, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support

You can use the following to determine if it is a real charge, what it is for, and to report a problem: See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC - Apple Support

Thanks FoXfith I hope it's phising and most probably is but.. looked very convincing. Just like to highlight to others. Nothing registered on the purchase history as of yet. Any idea how long it takes before it is visible in your purchases if it's the case? Guess I'd have to keep an eye on it for the next 24h.

Appreciate your quick respons thank you.

Check on your device and see if it actually is registered for Apple Music: Manage your Apple Music membership on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV - Apple Support

Hi stevejobsfan, when I open the app I'm not even logged in and don't even dare to. So if I'm not logged in to the app I guess I can't see the status??

Is it addressed to you by name or by email? if Email claims to be from Apple and addressed you by your Email address and not your name then it is without question spam

To manage your monthly charges from Apple go here:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039

if these are actual reoccurring charges they should show up once you enroll for that particular service.

getting junk email is no indication your account, let alone your computer has been compromised but you may wish to change your Apple ID log/pass with a password you do not use for any other on line service. If you use your same log/pass combo with another service (e.g. Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and that service is "hacked" then the perpetrators have to only try typing this same combo in any other service to get into your other accounts.

Thanks for all support and links to check up. I'm quite convinced its phishing now, will observe my account for the weekend. 99USD doesn't seem to be a fair charge however.

Have a great one all.
