terminal not responding
On MacOS Sierra Version 10.12.6 (16G29), with Terminal (Version 2.7.3 (388.1.1)), I'm getting a hang, showing the beachball. Activity monitor shows 'Terminal (Not Responding)', with the CPU at 100%.
There is nothing in the system log that seems connected.
I am using multiple tabs in Terminal (4 tabs). Nothing is running in the other three tabs.
When this happens, I am ssh-ed into another machine, but not running an application. I just press up-arrow to get to the previous history item then it hangs, and the beachball starts. It runs at 100% for about ten seconds.
Any suggestions as to what is happening?
Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
There is no memory pressure. When I look at process information for Terminal, it says 'Recent hangs: 46'.
