Transfer music from iPhone to Mac

Recently got a new MacBook Pro.

I have contacts, music, and apps on my iPhone that I don't have on my Mac. All of my contacts aren't synced correctly and I have none of my music on my Mac. How do I transfer them from my phone to iTunes?

I can't just plug in my phone to do it and its driving me nuts.
