macOS Sierra upgrade and WD My Book

After update to macOS sierra my WD My Book does not mount proper after Mac wakes up. It is still visible but I can't back up my drives. This problem was not present before the update. Now I need to eject the drives before I go away from my Mac for longer time to have them working properly. This is not "it just works" experience. It was just ok while under Mountain Lion, it isn't now. And it works without any issues under Lion and Snow Leopard. I want my external drives be fully operational all the time, and not be kinda working when my iMac goes to sleep and I forget to eject the drives.
Any clues other than "reinstall the OS"? Because... you know - that is lame.

Go to Energy Saver system prefs and disable, "put hard disks to sleep when possible"

Some drive controllers are flaky and perform the wrong action when put to sleep (i.e. they eject themselves).

FWIW, I have several WD drives and the oldest was doing something similar. It would unmount on its own or not mount in the first place, on rare occasions. I never have "put hard disks to sleep when possible" enabled.

What did seem to work was detaching the drive, then unplugging it from the AC for 10-15 seconds. It hasn't done it since. I suspect noise in the AC line caused the issue. Easy enough to try at least.

Thank you very much! That helped Have a nice day!
