Will this be an upgrade for me and be good for ...

Hi All,

I am in the market to upgrade from my early 2011 macbook pro with 8gb of ram and 320 gb harddrive. I stumbled a cross a deal for a 2012 15inch macbook pro with 16gb of ram and 256 gb of storage...

Will this be a significant upgrade for me and will it be able to handle video editing?

It will be a significant upgrade, as the 2011 model is known for graphics chip failure. Using those computer in computation-heavy way (for example for video editing) is known to trigger these failures. There is an abundance of broken macbooks pro 2011 on ebay and there is a reason for that.
