Your password will be sent in the clear

I have an error 'password will be sent in the clear' that has been caused by downloading a magazine app and removing it. This is now popping up every couple of minutes and is also preventing me downloading any future magazine or app.

Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.

 

If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings  (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').

(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).

 

If that doesn't work then backup and then restore the device as new first (to isolate cause of the issue). Then from backup if necessary.

I have seen so little response on both this community and ISP providers, As it looks very simple my experience was not good as I can't access my active screen because the message is a pop-up and does not allow me to use other functions. Even when you cancel it, it just stays there until you hard restart your phone and disable the wireless once it boots up....annoying.

I tried cancelling the window several times and most of the time it goes away but more often it stays. Resetting the network did not do the trick, or settings....the real solution that worked was backing up the phone and resetting it entirely.

Erase the phone and restore from backup.

Make sure there is no profile installed, Settings>General>Profile.

I've tried this to no avail. Any other suggestions? Happens on all wifi networks and only stops when I use cellular data.

Hi karenmonaghan16. Please give some more specifics about your exact problem.

Meanwhile, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Data.

You'll have to reconnect to your WiFi networks, but it might help.
