How to hide iCloud songs in Smart Playlists
Just found the option "View" > "Show iCloud Music Purchases" but unfortunately this hasnt changed them showing up in Smart Playlists I create. Ive tried out all the different options for limiting these playlists such as "iCloud Status" and "Location" but none of em seem to actually filter out undownloaded songs. Im not interested in playing any of those otherwise Id have just downloaded them in the first place. A temporary fix would be to 'love' each downloaded song but thats really not a good thing since Id rather use that feature for what its meant for, and theres 400+ songs Id have to tag like that.
'iCloud Status' only shows ALL songs or NONE, I assume since I dont use Apple Music?
'Location' as "on my pc" only shows 8 songs (of hundreds downloaded), whereas if its "on iCloud", it shows all but those 8 regardless of download status.
'Date Added' includes all songs as does 'Purchased'.
iTunes for Windows 12.3.2.35, latest at time of writing
Location is on this computer ought to do it.

Turns out those 8 songs i mentioned were ones that were downloaded TWICE from the store, somehow..
We would think that it 'ought' to do so but it doesn't.
Now the "Location is on this computer" option returns an empty playlist, regardless of the fact that I have ~400 songs downloaded and ~50 songs just on iCloud (not downloaded)
Close iTunes. Hold down Ctrl+Shift as you restart iTunes. Click Restore library if that option is there, then close and reopen. Also try signing out of the iTunes Store and then back in again. Does that filter work properly now?

The Safe Mode (Ctrl+Shift) method didnt work but the playlist updated once I signed out, but after signing back in again, it was empty again
Hmm, so I just signed up for iTunes Match, partly just to play with it, and also to update the 200 or so tracks I have with DRM. There is something very broken with smart playlists once match is involved. Rules don't always appear to do what they say they do. Refreshing playlists don't. The order keeps rearranging itself in the side bar.

Well that hasnt happened to me but I just got a new computer and all this happened, so I dont have 50 smart playlists for everything anyone. Used to be that you could just arrange and group them yourself easily enough. Thats another issue though :/
This has been irritating me for some time, but I think I figured out a solution: Go to "Edit Playlist" and add a line choosing "Checked" for the first variable and "is true" for the second. Save the list. Now uncheck the iCloud downloads and they should go away.
