Add all Bookmarks link to Dock?

How can I add all Safari Bookmarks to Dock?

We essentially wish to place a Bookmarks tree similar to Safari Favorites in Dock.

Perhaps a Terminal command?

  • ~Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist file can be dragged to Dock, but not immediately useful.
  • Edit Bookmarks⌥-⌘-B opens Bookmarks page in Safari tab - this page cannot be bookmarked.

Terminal (maybe even Automator) solution is supported by ability to drag icons, and pages in browser Address bar to Dock.

  1. Select Safari address bar to drag most web pages to right side of Dock where Globe icon links to page.
  2. Safari sidebar (Favorite) Links and Folders, or Address bar Links can be dragged to Desktop and then dragged to Dock.

Permanent problematic restrictions?

  • Dock will use a default Globe icon for page links and a default Folder icon for folder links, and this icon cannot be changed: similarly, all site favicon icons will be replaced with Safari icon, or the icon of the default system browser.
  • Important! Bookmarks page in Safari tab cannot be bookmarked.
  • Important! Cannot drag any (Favorites) sidebar page link to the Dock.

An important consideration could be that adding sites to Dock is blocked to accommodate security, while that security is adjusted to restore this useful Dock functionality. Failing a script solution, we will have to accommodate a faceless Globe and Folder pile-up. Or simply slave ourselves to opening Safari, and then digging for those favorites. Safari is not ease-of-use for those who wish to simply customize Apple for Desktop access to Favorites.
