iOS 10 Genius is gone

What happened to the Genius playlist feature in iOS10.  This was one of my favorite features to rediscover my extensive music library while sitting on an airplane.  Updated to iOS 10 yesterday and Genius is gone.  Bad move, Apple.  Start working on your next update to reintroduce the feature.

make sure to have your iCloud setting on in iTunes. Thats what i did. iCloud Music Library to be precise. Try that out.

I agree, Genius playlists on iPhone are a great feature. I sent them a comment as well. Cheers.

Yes, a great feature eliminated for seemingly no good reason.

The thing that gets me is that it looks like the ability is there somewhere but disabled or not implemented properly.

Go to your Music settings.

you will see the toggle switch there.

But it doesn't change anything.

Apple is running a promotion giving new users three free months of Apple Music.  I now suspect that the free Genius feature may have been disabled to push users onto the fee-based Apple Music platform.  Given that Genius still appears embedded in the operating system, I can only hope that this is temporary.  But I strongly dislike what appears to be a highly manipulative marketing practice.

I too was surprised when I tried to use GENIUS the other day.  VERY DISAPPOINTED.  I loved the feature ....

Have sent my feedback to Apple.  While my wife has iOS 10 on her iPad, I will keep iOS 9 on my iPad and iPhone as long as possible, or until Apple brings Genius Playlists back to iOS. 

Can revert her iPad back to iOS 9?

Given they had already disabled in the iOS 10 beta release last Spring, https://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/inside-the-betas-ios-10-music -app-delivers-clarity-and-simplicity it will take a lot of complaints to Apple to bring back this wonderful feature.   Maybe users should stick with iOS 9 as long as possible.

This is a BAD MOVE by Apple.  It seems that without the influence of Steve Jobs Apple is making some pretty bad decisions.  I have a feeling that customer wants do not play a major role with Apple anymore.  Disappointing to say the least....

While playing a song, tell Siri "create genius playlist".

So many good stuff eliminated in the Music app on iOS 10, or harder to access, very disappointing. My curated iTunes playlists are the only reason I'm still using an iPhone.

If the Music app gets any worse with iOS 11 I will switch to Android.

It seems they've removed this now, too
