Touch Bar stopped responding all of a sudden

Hello,

I was using my MacBook Pro 13" (w/ Touch Bar) normally and one day after I shut it down in the night, the next morning the Touch Bar was all blank.

I tried restarting the device, touching the Touch Bar for any response, but all in vain. I went to System Preferences-> Keyboard and to my surprise, all the settings related to the Touch Bar were gone as it was never there.

I have called in Apple Support and they guided me resetting the NVRAM and then refreshing the SMC but nothing worked out. Not able to figure out, why the issue-

  1. If it was a hardware damage (which could not happen as it was lying on the table), then why the settings got removed from the System for Touch Bar?
  2. If it was some software failure, it must have been fixed by the steps from the Apple Support? I also tried installing a fresh copy of Mac OS Sierra on the device but no help.

It's been around a year till when I have been using this device and it was working fine. Now I am not able to figure out the exact reason for the issue and visiting the Service Center just not seem relevant for such an auto-failure of such premium devices.
