SAP Gui and Java SDK on Yosemite issue

I can not run the SAP Gui and can not figure out why. Been on this forum but could not find a solution. I get the message when I try to open it:

Failed to find JRE/JDK version 1.7+(64bit). Download at java.com/jdk.

When I do javac -version in terminal I get a Java 1.6, but in the System Preferences it shows I am up to date with Java 8. Any help would be much appreciated!

What is returned with:

/usr/libexec/java_home -V

Oooops, thanks to whomever removed the image!

Hi Barney,

Returned:

Matching Java Virtual Machines (2):

    1.6.0_65-b14-466.1, x86_64: "Java SE 6" /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home

    1.6.0_65-b14-466.1, i386: "Java SE 6" /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home

You haven't installed any other JDK's. You need to download a Java 7 JDK.

I already tried installing jdk 7, didn't work.

What is in /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/

There are two downloads for Java, a JRE and a JDK. You need to install the Jave SE JDK from Oracle.

Ok, so somewhere I read that the JRE and JDK ship together and must have got mixed up in that. Thanks for all your help! After downloading from the the link below its all good!

Same question for "SAP GUI for Java" 7.50 on High Sierra (brand new Mac Pro 15'').

Failed to find JRE/JDK version 1.8+(64bit). Download at java.com/jdk.
