I would like to reinstall iTunes 12.6.2.20 unti...

iTunes 12.7.0.166 does not have the ATV on it anymore, so I cannot transfer my ripped CDs to ATV 1. I do not want to restore at this time because I have added several ripped CDs to play on ATV(through my stereo). Is there a down load of 12.6.2.20 available on Apples site so I can do this until Apple restores the transfer function?

There's only one problem...  The "iTunes library.itl" file which houses your layout, playlists, etc... is now only reading version  12.7.   There's 2 ways around this:

OPTION 1:

Throw out iTunes 12.7

Install iTunes 12.6.2

Look inside the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder

Locate the "iTunes Library 2017-03-28.itl" file dated before you updated to iTunes 12.7.

(Example this one is dated March 28, 2017.) 

If you double click that file, it will launch iTunes, but it will launch THIS "itl" instead of the one converted to iTunes 12.7

if that doesn't work...

OPTION 2:

Toss iTunes 12.7

install iTunes 12.6.2

Hold down "OPTION" (for MAC) or "SHIFT" (for PC) during launch of iTunes.

Create a new library

After the new library opens and you see a big blank page (MUSIC)

Go to the iTunes backup where ever you have it - mines on an external drive

Open the iTunes folder

Locate the folder iTunes Media

Take the "iTunes Media" folder

Drop that folder into the empty window of the new iTunes Library you just created

That will reinstall everything from the drive

(The only problem with this is if you have custom PLAYLISTS you'll loose them)

Rolling back iTunes for Windows is easy enough. On a Mac it seems somewhat harder as uninstalling the current version isn't trivial, and if it isn't removed properly the older version will fail to launch.

I tried both ways to no avail. I ended up creating a new library and manually double clicking files to reinstall them. However, after all that work, I still cannot upload to ATV 1. I can play ATV 1 through AirTunes, but I cannot transfer any new music to the device. It may be that my ATV 1 is dying on the vine...
