New SSD not being recognised by iMac A1311
I've installed a new SSD into an iMac A1311
I've formatted the drive on another Mac as per instructions
I've put my Sierra USB installer into the Mac but I just get the circle with the line through, which I'm assuming means no drive present
I formatted the drive as MacOS Extended (Journaled), and Ive tried both GUID and MBR schemes
Any pointers/help will be much appreciated
Is the drive recognized by Disk Utility using your original Snow Leopard install discs? I don't think you can install Sierra on a bare drive in a late 2009 iMac.
