why does my mac calendar not accept events inpu...

I have a macbook air that is a couple of years old.

It has Sierra 10.12.6

1.4 Ghz Processor

4 GB memory

I also have an iphone and an ipad

Problem is that any event put on my phone doesn't show up on my mac in the calendar. however if I put an event on my mac it does show up on my other devices.

I have gone through processes suggested by Apple and they haven't worked
