A bug in Mail since Watch OS 4?

Since updating to Watch OS 4 I am experiencing a problem with the Mail app.

When the iPhone and Watch are both switched on I can read an email on one device, delete it and it will remove it from the other device.

If the Watch is switched off and I read or delete an email on the iPhone, when the Watch is turned back on the email will still be showing on the Watch.

This has only started to occur since the latest update.

Is this a known bug?
