I am not getting notifications on my apple watch

My Watch is set to mirror my phone in terms of Mail and Message notifications, but the Watch is not getting them. My texts and e-mails arrive on the Watch, but I do not get the notifications I expect. Any thoughts? Thanks!

seems like a universal issue, I'm having the same problem, except I get no email notification

Try changing from Mirror my iPhone to Custom on the iPhone watch app.

It doesn't work for me whether it is on Mirror my iPhone or Custom

I Am having the same problem.

I had the same problem, then I fixed it. Turn off cover to mute located in the apple watch app on the iphone. It's going to be under the Sounds and Haptics selection. Once you turn it off, and you get your notifications on the watch, feel free to turn it back on. Hopefully this helps!

When the phone is locked you will get the notification on your watch. if you have the phone open you wont get notified on the watch. pretty smart actually.

EExactly right. If my phone is open and on, no notifications. With my phone in my pocket, works like a charm.  Like so many people with a new watch, we want to see things happen and we have the phone on.  The watch doesn't work.  I read a forum and went to the hassle or re pairing my phone.  No help.  That's because my phone was one.  Problem solved.

It is happening to me when my iPhone is in standby mode as well from time to time. Not always though. Not sure how to fix it.

I restarted my Apple Watch and the notifications kicked back in.

It was the first time I'd restarted it since I've been using it (3 weeks).

Hey Guys, Anyone not getting notifications should try to switch off wrist detection in the general settings tab on the apple watch app on the iPhone. I have not been getting notifications of any sort until I switched that feature off, I am now getting all my notifications. I tried everything all sorts of resets and this is what fixed it for me.

If this fix does work for you then I believe that your infra red sensor which detects your wrist is not working properly.

Probably obvious, but might help some people out there. If do not disturb is on (little blue half moon on watch) notifications will not come through.

so i have same problem

here are my observations

note it might be a buggy software from the developer or buggy ios issue that causes problem, i'm unable to tell who the culprit is

I use an app called Lumy- as a photographer i find it helpful to get a nitification 1 hour prior to golden hour.

iphone apple watch app has been told to mirror the app, its on glances and isntalled on watch.

i launch the app on iphone and tell it to notify me, thus notification is setup.

so on day one i get a notification.

but next day notification never comes back

so for some reason the app clears its notification meaning it wont alert me anymore

i have to open the app on iphone each day to set it up yet again

what causes it to reset? i dont know

so if you are having issues with no notifications check the app on iphone to see if ti needs setting up again.
