itunes suddenly declining my debit card?

So on 10/1/2017 I used my debit card to buy something off of itunes and it worked as usual. Today, 10/2/2017, I tried to buy a song but it gave me the "Verification Required" message and when I go to try and enter my card info into the account settings it won't accept it and declines my payment method. Afterwards, I went to go eat to test if my card worked and it worked fine for buying my dinner so it doesn't seem to be an issue with my card. I know for a fact I am entering in the correct stuff card info but for whatever reason it has stopped accepting my debit card. Can't update any apps or buy anything until this is resolved.
