Is there a way to hide the dock in iOS 11?

The capability is, of course, available in OS X.

The dock should hide when an App is open.

There is no way to hide it when at the home screen.

You mean to hide when in the home screen? Or make it disappear completely until you swipe op or something?

I would be interested in this as well.

either/or.....I hunted and could not find any way to hide it.
