How can I run iPhoto 9.2.3 on high sierra

I take my jpg photos and mp4 video from mine and my wife's cameras and create a slideshow before burning it to dvd.

My new Sierra computer (upgraded to 10.13) Photos is F'in crap. Together with Apple, I have found a way to have them ordered by File-Name. However, when creating a Slideshow, the problems start:

1. Music is played; can get rid of it but when creating a Project, the file order is wrong.

2. Can create a Slideshow (I found three ways to Create Slideshow) in the right order, but music is played.

3. Playing the Slideshow has the transition from photo to video jerky; it pauses for a while before playing the video.

4. Also, jpg's are shown for various amount of time.

I want no music, no transitions, just the photos and videos with the photos being displayed for the time I say.

After may hours on this, I have an opinion of what the developers thought, but think it's better to keep it to myself (think drugs).

Is there anyway I can use my old iPhoto '11 v9.2.3 on 10.13 or 10.12. It worked very well for me in that it kept the files in the correct order, jpg time could be set and the slideshow wasn't jerky between jpg and mp4 or at anytime.

There's also another issue that's making me wish I had bought Microsoft because it seems like Apple want's to dictate to me what the computer does, instead of me being in control.

HELP.

Thanking you in advance.

No, you need 9.6.1 for any OS after Yosemite. If you have a Mac running Yosemite, you may still be able to update it via the App Store.

iMovie gives much better control over slideshow options.

There is no way to run that version of iPhoto on 10.13

Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:

iMovie is on every Mac sold.

Others, in order of price:

PhotoToMovie  $49.95

PulpMotion  $129

FotoMagico $99

Final Cut Pro X $299

It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.
