Google Chrome opening 2 windows every time I op...

Hi. I'm using an early 2015 Macbook Air (Sierra v.10.12.6) with a 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, an 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory, and Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB graphics.

I've checked and changed settings in Chrome for the "pages that startup", but it continues to open 2 separate windows of Chrome whenever I open the browser.

I've seen fixes for Windows machine in Google, but none for Mac's. Does anyone have an idea of how to stop this?

I'm not quite sure why you suggested I look in the Community listings. I'm quite sure I'd already checked there when I posted my question, and just checked again now.  I don't see any posts related to this question.

So I'm continuing to have the problem.

If you have any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

P.S. I checked in Google Help before I posted in the Community. I'm not an especially lazy and impatient Apple user, so try to follow the normal procedures to check for help when I encounter something I can't seem to fix.
