My Mac is really slow!!!

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask for some help.I recently updated to Mac OS high Sierra and I noticed that my mac’s start up time went from 12 seconds to 41 seconds!!! The only apps that I have installed from the internet is Spotify. So I thought that creating a new user would solve the problem and it did but I thought that it would be a good idea to take my Mac to my local Apple store to find out why this happened.The guy there suggested a format and without a second thought I gave my Mac. Today I went to pick up my Mac and when I returned home it did the same thing! The start up time is 41 seconds again! First I thought it  was due to some kind of virus a thing that would be strange bea cause as I said before the only app I have installed from the internet is Spotify and I have never downloaded anything else such as music or movies etc. but after I formatted my Mac I don’t think that the virus is the problem. I would like to know what’s causing the problem and how to solve it.
